Recognizing the need for focused representation, the Georgia Industry Association was organized in 1993 by manufacturers who realized that only through the strength of numbers could they address key legislative bodies with authority, respond effectively to the almost unlimited power of regulatory agencies and intelligently challenge well-organized, well-funded opposition groups.

Since that time GIA has worked tirelessly to represent Georgia's manufacturers on issues that directly affect industry, including economic development, energy, the environment, human resources, taxation and transportation.
